HauHau Research provides access to a range of engineering, fabrication,
testing and characterisation equipment to support applied research,
prototype development and industry-focused R&D. Our facilities enable
researchers and engineers to develop, manufacture, test and evaluate
new technologies and engineering solutions.
Microscopy & Materials Characterisation

🔬 Phenom ProX Scanning Electron Microscope with EDS:
Desktop scanning electron microscopy with integrated elemental analysis
for high-resolution investigation of materials, particles, surfaces,
microstructures and elemental composition.

Optical imaging and inspection of materials, electronic components,
manufactured parts and research samples.
Mechanical & Materials Testing

⚙️ Instron 5967 Universal Testing System – 30 kN:
Mechanical testing of materials, components and prototypes for
higher-load tensile, compression and related testing applications.

⚙️ Instron 3344 Universal Testing System – 2 kN:
Precision mechanical testing for lower-force materials, small
components and specimens.
Electronics & PCB Prototyping

🟩 LPKF ProtoMat S64 PCB Prototyping System:
Rapid in-house PCB fabrication for sensors, embedded electronics,
control systems and mechatronic devices.

🔧 Essemtec EXPERT-FP Fine-Pitch Pick-and-Place System:
Manual component placement system for standard and fine-pitch
surface-mount components used in prototype PCB assembly.

🔥 TWS 850 Forced-Convection Reflow Oven:
Controlled reflow soldering for prototype and small-batch
surface-mount PCB assembly.
Together, these systems provide an integrated in-house workflow for
rapid electronic hardware development, from PCB fabrication through
component placement, reflow assembly and testing.
Digital Fabrication & Rapid Prototyping

Laser cutting, engraving, marking and rapid fabrication of prototype
components, enclosures, fixtures and experimental assemblies.

FDM additive manufacturing for prototypes, custom components,
housings, fixtures and experimental systems.
Supporting Engineering Equipment
Our facilities are complemented by electronics test and measurement
instrumentation, soldering and rework equipment, embedded development
systems, precision measurement tools and general mechanical workshop
equipment for prototype fabrication and assembly.
Supporting Applied R&D
These facilities support HauHau Research activities across sensors,
robotics, mechatronics, electronics, advanced manufacturing and
intelligent systems, and are available to support collaborative
research and industry projects.
